The producer
Vespolina from Piedmont's Boca
The vineyards in Boca and Prato Sesia produce Vespolina grapes grown in porphyry-rich soils at high altitudes.
Davide Carlone's vineyards are located in the Boca and Prato Sesia areas of Piedmont. The vineyard covers 0.5 hectares and is home to 15-year-old vines. The grapes are harvested manually at the end of September.
The wine undergoes about eight days of maceration on the skins in steel tanks. It also goes through malolactic fermentation with natural indigenous yeasts and is aged for six to eight months in steel tanks. Minimal sulphites are used in the production.
