Over 130 years of tradition
Amaro Montenegro is a liqueur rooted in a time-honored recipe from Bologna, Italy, utilizing over 40 botanicals.
Amaro Montenegro was created in Bologna, Italy, in 1885 by Stanislao Cobianchi, who traveled the world collecting botanicals. His journey led to the establishment of the Cobianchi Stanislao Steam Distillery, where he perfected his recipe, initially named Elisir Lungavita, or 'elixir of life.' The name changed to Amaro Montenegro in honor of Princess Elena of Montenegro, who became Queen of Italy.
This amaro is made from a blend of 40 botanicals, including herbs, spices, and citrus peels. The production process involves boiling, macerating, and distilling these botanicals to create unique essences. The final blend is enhanced with a secret ingredient called the Premio, derived from a micro-distillation of five botanicals, ensuring a distinct flavor profile.
