Vigna Rionda in Serralunga d'Alba
The Vigna Rionda vineyard is renowned for producing complex Barolo, reflecting its unique terroir and traditional methods.
Vigna Rionda is a prestigious cru located in Serralunga d'Alba, recognized for its exceptional terroir. The vineyard spans approximately 3 hectares at an altitude of 300 meters, with soils rich in calcareous marl and clay. This unique environment contributes to the complexity and longevity of the wines produced here, making it a significant site for Barolo production.
The Barolo Riserva from Vigna Rionda undergoes traditional vinification methods, including long fermentation and maceration in large oak vats at around 86°F. After fermentation, the wine matures in large Slavonian oak casks for up to 42 months, followed by an additional 24 months in bottle. This extended aging process allows the wine to develop depth and character, resulting in a product that requires patience before release.
