Oldest vineyard in Rhode Island
Sakonnet Vineyard's maritime climate and sustainable practices shape its wines.
Founded in 1975, Sakonnet Vineyard is recognized as New England's oldest vineyard. Located in Little Compton, Rhode Island, the estate spans 169 acres, with over 20 acres dedicated to vines. The vineyard has played a significant role in the development of Rhode Island's modern wine industry.
The Blanc de Blancs is produced from old vine Chardonnay and Vidal Blanc. It spent 10 years on the lees and was riddled and disgorged by hand, employing minimal-intervention winemaking and sustainable farming practices.
